Herbs can be dried and preserved for up to one year. Dry the herbs thoroughly and store them whole, in rigid containers with airtight seals. You can also freeze herbs in Ziploc bags and store for up to two years. These preserved herbs will continue to add life to your cooking long after harvest.
Paper Games – Take along some paper games. The pages can be thrown away after use. You might want to keep a blank game form so that you can stop at a library along your way and make more copies of a popular game.
Bulkhead Seats – If you plan ahead, you can get seating on planes that have a bulkhead area where there is a bit more space between normal rows of seats. Then your children can spread out a bit more. If you have toddlers, don’t use the front row of seating next to the first class curtain. I can tell you from personal experience that the toddler will want to go past the curtain. As a result of this, I also know that the sound of a screaming toddler who is lying under your seat will probably not be heard past the row behind you.
